WPP CEO Mark Read to open the Media Leaders Awards ceremony

WPP CEO Mark Read will open the Media Leaders Awards’ results ceremony at next week’s awards ceremony, with a fireside chat about leadership with The Media Leader‘s editor Omar Oakes.

Read is one of the world’s most influential advertising and media leaders, having taken charge of WPP, the world’s largest advertising, media and marketing services group (by revenue), in 2018. Read, the former global CEO of WPP agency Wunderman (now Wunderman Thompson), succeeded long-serving CEO and founder Sir Martin Sorrell.

There are five trophies available for best media agency, media owner, advertiser, tech and international media leader at the awards ceremony in London on 26 April.

The awards feature 16 categories, including three new categories celebrating excellence in the three core issues The Media Leader is championing throughout 2022: sustainability, talent, and trust.

Read completes an impressive line-up of speakers for the third annual Media Leaders Awards. The ceremony will also feature four rising stars from The Media Leader’s inaugural Future 100 Club who will present a manifesto to leaders in the room.

And the five previous winners of the Leadership Awards will form part of a panel discussion to discuss the memorable 12 months they have just experienced. Last year’s winners included former UM UK CEO Rachel Forde and Bloomberg Media’s managing director, commercial, Europe, Duncan Chater.

This year’s panel of 20 judges includes industry leaders in their own right from across media, including IPA director-general Paul Bainsfair, Newsworks CEO Jo Allan, Advertising Association CEO Stephen Woodford, Thinkbox CEO Lindsey Clay, ISBA director-general Phil Smith, Route Research CEO Denise Turner, and Oakes.

Adwanted Events expects 200 future and media leaders to attend and anyone interested in attending the awards can buy tickets via this link.
