The Media Leader is the media industry’s leading source of news analysis, data, and opinion. We are an independent publishing brand owned by Adwanted Group and in 2022, we rebranded from Mediatel News and launched a dedicated site and newsletter in the US.
Omar Oakes is editor-in-chief of The Media Leader and, as part of the rebrand, repositioned the publication as the advertising industry’s go-to resource for quality analysis, opinion and news about media and its intersection with advertising. The publication also introduced brand values that now guide the title’s coverage: championing excellence, inclusion and courage in media.
The values are put into editorial practice by consulting our audience and the wider industry about what are the most pressing issues that need to be improved. After a series of debates held at our flagship Future of Media conference, The Media Leader pledged to champion three important topics throughout 2023: talent, sustainability and trust in media.
