Ocean Outdoor has promoted Phil Hall from joint UK managing director to UK CEO amid a company-wide restructure.

Hall will join Ocean’s other regional CEOs: Anders Axelsson, CEO of Ocean Nordics, and Xavier Tilman, CEO of Ocean Netherlands.

In the restructure, Steve George, who was also formerly joint UK managing director, has become group chief development officer.

In this role he will be responsible for launching and sharing best practice for DOOH asset development across the seven countries where Ocean Outdoor operates.

Other group-wide roles have been given to Catherine Morgan, David Tait and Helen Haines, who will report in to the group leadership team of Tim Bleakley, Ocean Outdoor Group CEO, Stephen Joseph, group CFO/COO, and Richard Malont, group CMO.

Morgan will become managing director of Ocean Labs, the company’s tech, innovation and through-the-line creative solutions division, which will expand across all of Ocean’s territories.

Tait will be head of studio and design across the group after he successfully developed Ocean’s DeepScreen™ 3D product.

Haines will take on the group position of head of brand events and was previously UK head of marketing. A replacement for this position is due to be announced soon.

Angela Green will also become director of commercial systems in the UK, charged with a full overhaul of Ocean’s systems.

Bleakley said of the changes: “The streamlined Group structure supports the next leg of the Ocean voyage and most pleasing of all allows those people at the forefront of the post 2019 recovery to grow and evolve.

“We have three talented and focussed growth led country CEOs and brand extension discipline in Labs and Studio to drive innovation and creativity and deliver for our partners. Importantly, we can share knowledge and best practise across the Group swiftly and effectively.”

The digital out-of-home advertising (DOOH) company is active across the UK and Northern and Continental Europe with a network of more than 4,000 screens in seven countries and 351 cities.

Ocean has recently won media contracts for Battersea Power Station in London, Westfield Mall of the Netherlands and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s (URW) Fisketorvet Mall in Copenhagen.
