Unofficial ratings figures for Sunday night’s episode of the BBC’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover reveal that the show attracted an audience of over 11 million, outdoing both Channel 4 and ITV. Linda La Plante’s new thriller, also on Sunday, hooked a mere 2.5million in comparison, with Aspel & Company doing slightly better at 4 million.
The Daily Mail & General Trust has announced interim pre-tax profits of £21.2m for the six months to April 1993 a rise of 11% year-on-year. Earnings per share rose to 121.9p from 102.7p, leaving the interim dividend at 36p.
The cover price of TV & Satellite Week has been cut from 55p to 30p in the North of the country, and raised to 60p in London, in order to increase sales of the title and improve profits.
