In brief

Google-owned YouTube has won the rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket subscription package, paying $2bn a year for seven years.

The out-of-market sports package will be available as an add-on to YouTube TV, and as a standalone purchase on YouTube Primetime Channels.

Pricing for either option has not yet been announced.

UK viewers will still be able to watch on NFL Game Pass, Sky Sports, and ITV.

DirecTV had previously held the rights to NFL Sunday Ticket since near its inception 1994. It had most recently cost $1.5bn annually.

Amazon, Apple, and ESPN were also rumoured to have been interested.
