Twitter ‘dissolves’ Trust and Safety Council
In brief

Twitter has dissolved its Trust and Safety Council, an advisory board that was formed in 2016 to help address harmful speech, child exploitation, suicide, self-harm, and other concerns on the platform.

The council had been scheduled to meet with Twitter representatives Monday night, but were informed in advance that it had been disbanded, according to the Associated Press.

The council had been comprised of around 100 independent representatives from human and civil rights organisations.

The move follows the resignation of Twitter’s former safety head Yoel Roth last month. Twitter’s owner Elon Musk (pictured, main image) has publicly attacked Roth since his departure.
