Toys’R’US announce US based family-friendly VOD service

Toys’R’Us has announced the launch in the US of Toys’R’Us Movies, a brand-new digital entertainment service that provides families instant access to movies and TV shows.

Powered by Rovi Corporation and available at ToysrusMovies.com, the service features more than 4,000 titles, specially selected to supply hours of entertainment and fun for parents and children. In addition, the service is equipped with easy-to-use, customisable parental controls to help parents choose the most appropriate content for their family’s viewing.

The service is a transactional VOD service, so users will pay for content as they want it, rather than pay a subscription.

The retailers has inked several high profile film studio deals and is also able to offer new releases on the site before they go on general sale, such as DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, which has been made available for digital download nearly two weeks before the DVD is available in stores.
