Pew: a quarter of under-30s regularly get their news from TikTok
In brief

A quarter (26%) of US adults under 30 now regularly get their news from TikTok.

That is according to the latest data from Pew Research, whose researchers noted that the share of total US adults who say they get their news from TikTok has tripled since 2020, from 3% to 10%.

Pew reported last month that one-third of TikTok users get their news from the platform regularly, and that half (50%) of US adults get their news from social media platforms more generally at least some of the time.

TikTok has recently been accused of failing to detect election misinformation advertisements.
