Over 50% Of Films Will Be Released Digitally By 2007, Says Screen Digest

By 2007, more than half of all films distributed globally and all US/Hollywood films will be released digitally, according to forecasts from Screen Digest.

Currently, just 8.5% of films are digitally released globally; this rises to 35% for the US/Hollywood distributors. By the end of this year the global total should reach 15%, whilst US/Hollywood’s digital output rises to 60%. In Europe, digital releases are forecast to reach 60% by the end of 2002.
