One in three millennials would prefer AI to run the country

Some might argue that our country is already run by a robot, but, as UK politics continues to exasperate the masses, one in three millennials have said they would prefer to have artificially intelligent politicians than actual humans.

The findings form part of Mindshare UK’s 2018 trends report, which sheds light on consumer attitudes towards a variety of topics including AI, data and technological advancements.

In a grim glance into what the future of this world might look like (spoiler: machines), consumers seem to be moving away from good old-fashioned human interaction as automated services such as chatbots and in-store virtual assistants become increasingly convenient and efficient.

In fact, 54% said they would go for the quickest and most convenient option when faced with the choice between human and automated services, while 57% agreed that machines will be able to do tasks more effectively than humans.

Meanwhile, 43% said it is sometimes easier to deal with a machine than a real person, with the figure rising to 52% of 18-34 year olds.

Fortunately, just 11% said they would prefer medical advice from AI, compared to 60% for car comparison advice.
