MC&C Group has announced that Mark Jackson is stepping down as managing director of its flagship business MC&C Media after less than two years in the role – with deputy MD Robin Trust set to fill his shoes.
In a statement, MC&C said it has been “mutually agreed that Jackson will leave the company to pursue other opportunities that are of interest to him.”
However, the move may come as a surprise to some given Jackson’s ambitious longer-term plans for the UK agency, which he outlined to Newsline earlier this year, to make MC&C the leading performance agency in the UK by 2020.
“We are only just beginning what we are going to achieve,” Jackson said in August. “I love what I do and if I can have people with my passion working in the agency then we will destroy it.”
Robin Trust joined MC&C in 2013 as business director, before taking on the role of chief client officer and then deputy MD at the start of 2017. Prior to that he was director of media at OMD UK.
CEO Mike Colling said MC&C has had “excellent growth” this year, with revenues up 23% so far, and that Trust has “the right blend of management experience, client contacts and shared vision” to drive the agency forward.
“We also thank Mark for his efforts and energy over the past two years and wish him the best of luck in his future ventures,” Colling added.
