Kilcawley promoted to director of UKTV Ventures

UKTV has promoted Brendan Kilcawley from head of commercial to director of UKTV Ventures.

He first joined the broadcaster’s airtime-for-equity scheme in 2021 and will now be responsible for developing and executing the pipeline of investments, while managing its portfolio of start-ups including easyGuide, and KinKind.

This comes as UKTV and BBC Studios restructured their commercial team and Kilcawley told The Media Leader in an interview earlier this year the aim of the scheme was to “grow the TV advertising market” while educating venture capital and early-stage businesses about the benefits these deals can bring to all parties.
