ITVX launch month registers 55% growth in streaming hours for broadcaster

ITV’s free ad-funded streaming services recorded a 55% increase in streaming hours between 8 December 2022 and 7 January 2023, compared to the same time last year.

ITVX, which launched in December, heavily contributed to the overall increase and has seen its online user-base grow by 65% during the past month, although ITV has declined to say how many registered accounts ITVX currently has.

Streaming hours measure the total time that registered users stream ITV’s content across its owned and operated platforms, excluding viewing on third-party platforms.

When excluding the Fifa World Cup, underlying streaming viewing during ITVX’s launch month was up 29% year on year.
