IPA survey: who are the best digital media owners to work with?

Blis, Pinterest, and GumGum are the best media owners to work with, according to a survey of agencies and digital specialists conducted by the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) and supported by True & North.

The greatest share (84.9%) of respondents reported that their overall experience of working with Blis was positive, followed by Pinterest (83.1%) and GumGum (81.9%).

Six additional media owners achieved an overall score above 75%: Reddit (79.5%), Captify (78.8%), Mail Metro Media (77.3%), Snap (76.7%) MiQ (76.3%), and Quantcast (75.8.%).

While Blis leads overall and among Ad Networks/Exchanges, DSP and Sales Houses, Pinterest leads Online Pure Plays and Mail Metro Media leads Crossover Media Owners.

Among media owners that also appeared in the prior IPA digital media owner survey last autumn, Meta is the most improved, with increases in satisfaction of 10 percentage points or more across ten categories.

Amy Lawrence, digital director at GroupM media agency EssenceMediacom and chair of the IPA Digital Marketing Group, said it is “encouraging to see so many media owners maintain high standards across the board,” adding that “those that have struggled recently know where they must raise their game.”

“In a complex landscape, knowing which media owners are delivering a consistently high service is critical for agencies, so huge congratulations must go to Blis for their outstanding performance,” she said.
