Hi-Tech Publishing Ad Decline Eases Slightly In September

The business to business (B2B) information technology publishing sector saw advertising page volumes decline by 11.5% during September, according to the latest figures from United Business Media (UBM). This represents a slightly stronger market than in August, when volumes dropped by 24.1% (see Technology Advertising Remains Very Weak, Says UBM).

UBM’s US technology publishing division, CMP Media, saw its own ad volumes increase by 3.6% during the period, once again outperforming the market.

In the calendar year to September, the whole sector saw page volumes fall by 33.6%, whilst CMP’s dropped by 22.7%. In the year to September, the market was down 38.1%, whilst CMP fell 27.5%
