Exterion UK appoints Telegraph’s Dave King as MD

Dave King has been appointed UK managing director of Exterion Media, while former MD Jason Cotterrell becomes group development director.

King, who has been executive director at Telegraph Media Group for the last 12 years, will focus on growing franchise operations, accelerating revenue growth and leading Exterion’s transition into a digital media company.

“Attracting someone of Dave’s calibre speaks volumes about our business,” said Shaun Gregory, CEO of Exterion.

“He has a first class track record across all forms of media, and the necessary experience in transitioning traditional business models into the digitised world we live in today. Dave is joining the business at a pivotal time as we embark on the next chapter of our journey.”

King, who starts his new role on 23 January, said: “Exterion Media is a business that has transformed significantly, and now has the opportunity for a new period of growth as it transitions into a Digital Media Company powered by data.

“We have the opportunity to take this company to market leadership, through greater investment in digital and through the right culture and people. I believe we can digitise our business model faster than any of our competitors. I’m thrilled to be joining the team at this pivotal point.”

Meanwhile, Jason Cotterrell, who has been managing director of Exterion for the past five-and-a-half years, will take up the newly created role of group development director. He will be responsible for franchise opportunities and potential partnerships, and report into group chief operating officer Leon Taviansky.

“I am immensely proud of what we have achieved across what I can only say has been a busy five years in the UK…It’s been an incredible period of transition and positive change,” Cotterrell said.

“Now, I believe we’re in a hugely exciting phase of growth – not just for our business, but for the wider industry. I’m excited about my next chapter at Exterion Media, and working to drive growth across all of our markets.”

Cotterrell begins his new role in March.
