In association with Primesight, and in front of an invited audience of senior media executives, MediaTel Group will be taking a more detailed look at the growing relationship between out-of-home advertising and mobile communication next week.

The event, ‘The inevitable union of out-of-home and mobile’, will be chaired by Newsline columnist Raymond Snoddy and features an excellent panel, including Shaun Gregory, global advertising director at Telefonica, Stewart Easterbrook, CEO Starcom MediaVest Group, Chris Forrester, commercial director at Primesight Outdoor, Mark Fraser, founder Zappit and digital consultant Greg Grimmer.

The latest figures on consumer behaviours point towards considerable, but, so far, largely unexploited opportunities ready to be discussed by the panel:

    • 70% of smartphone owners could be encouraged to buy items via their mobile (eMarketer)
    • Over 130% increase in Internet users using mobile banking 2011 vs 2012 (eMarketer)
    • 72% of smartphone users know about the 4G technology and 56.8% want 4G (Mintel)
    • 62% of smartphone users reach to a device immediately after waking up, 79% doing so within 15 minutes of rising
    • A quarter of UK respondents (26%) said that they had used their device for shopping in the past 30 days (Nielsen)

Primesight will also use the event to expand on their Primemobile campaign research, and a recent successful geofence technology survey test.
