European DTV Will Continue To Grow

The number of digital households in Europe is expected to grow by 24% by 2010, according to a new report from Informa Media Group.

The European Television report says, that by 2010 there will be 112 million digital subscribers in Europe with growth being spurred by cable and satellite subscription.

Cable subscription numbers are expected to grow by 16% between 2004 and 2010, while satellite subscriber figures are expected to hit 31.5 million by 2010, up from 23 million at the end of this year says the report.

Informa Media Group says that digital terrestrial TV is overcoming its early difficulties and is set to reach 10% (23 million) of European households within the next six years.
