DMEXCO goes MAD for UK partnership

The Cologne-based media and marketing trade fair, DMEXCO has teamed up with the UK’s MAD//Fest for next month’s virtual outing.

DMEXCO 2020 will be held on 23 and 24 September in a purely digital format. As part of the two-day virtual exhibition and conference, MAD//Fest x DMEXCO@home will create a virtual pub for marketing leaders to experience a fast-paced mix of 180 second keynotes from brand marketers and disruptors, live entertainment and peer-to-peer networking, enabled by DMEXCO’s interactive networking tool.

Ian Houghton, co-founder and commercial director of MAD//Fest, said: “One positive to come out of what’s been a challenging time for the whole industry is the increased appetite for innovative partnerships and developing new ways of connecting, discovering new things and doing business.

“DMEXCO is a must in the event calendar, whether we’re in Cologne or watching at home. We’re relishing the prospect of combining DMEXCO’s global scale with MAD//Fest’s unique experience to create an absolute monster of an industry shindig. Expect fast-paced inspiration, spades of new connections and a completely unique global gathering of the marketing community in what’s been a crazy year for firms of all shapes and sizes.”

The virtual event launch comes hot-on-the-heels of MAD//Fest and New Digital Age’s 99//Club Digital Festival, which attracted 3,400 industry execs from 15-19 June and featured 99 speakers from brands including VICE, Coca-Cola, Starling Bank, made.com, AB InBev, GSK, Unilever, Tenzing and O2. The event also featured a House Party in partnership with Defected Records.

Meanwhile, also on 23 and 24 September, Mediatel Events will be hosting its Future TV Advertising Forum Canada, focused on driving innovation in television advertising in Canada.

During this two-day virtual conference, delegates will debate how to evolve television to be better traded, targeted, data-led and measured.
