DCM makes four new hires in commercial drive

Digital Cinema Media (DCM) is to substantially invest in its commercial team with four new recruits across its innovations, sales and client teams this month, as Karen Stacey marks six months as CEO.

The new hires include Bauer’s Ross Luckie, Luke Smith from Telegraph Media, Channel 5’s Esther Canham and Michael Pollard from Val Morgan, while Zoe Ibrahim has been promoted to client lead. Recruitment for a second client lead is also in progress.

The appointments come as cinema continues to show strong double digit growth, with both box office figures and advertising revenue growing over the first half of the year. For the sixth month in succession, admissions were up in May from the same time last year, with 2015 admissions up 7.3% in total.

Commenting on the appointments, Stacey said: “DCM is committed to unlocking new opportunities for brands to connect with cinema’s young, upmarket and early adopting audiences and we’re really excited to be expanding our innovations, sales and clients teams to help prove cinema’s effectiveness as part of the media plan and to propel our business forward.

“This reflects the growth the cinema industry has experienced over the last six months alone and the increasing popularity of our powerful medium.”
