BBC secures rights to broadcast Olympics through 2032
In brief

The BBC has secured a rights deal that will allow the broadcaster to carry the Olympic Games up to and including 2032.

The rights deal comes as part of a partnership with new joint rights holders, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Warner Bros Discovery.

The deal will cover the broadcast rights to the Winter Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in 2026 and for an as yet unannounced host country in 2030, as well as the Summer Games in Los Angeles during 2028 and Brisbane in 2032.

The BBC’s prior rights agreement includes the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The partnership ensures that UK audiences will continue to have free-to-air access to the Games for the next decade.
