Reach joins Spotify’s Megaphone platform

Newsbrand publisher Reach has joined the Megaphone platform and the Spotify Audience network.

Reach has 130 national and local media brands, and its podcasts have an average reach of 1.7 million monthly worldwide downloads with particular strengths in sports and entertainment.

Its most-listened-to weekly podcast shows include Blood Red: The Liverpool FC Podcast, Everything is Black and White (a podcast about Newcastle United Football Club), and Pod Save The King.

Spotify has also introduced a bundle for Megaphone podcast publishers in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain which gives them free access to Chartable and Podsights.

Spotify acquired all three podcast companies since 2020. Megaphone is a platform with podcast publishing and monetisation tools. Chartable is a podcast analytics platforms that offers publishers insight in to promotional attribution and audience. Podsights in a podcast advertising measurement service that allows advertisers to measure and scale ads on the channel.

Megaphone clients will now be able to access this audience data separate from its own platform directly on Podsights and Chartable, but over time the intention is for users to be able to access these attribution and measurement tools within Megaphone itself.

Spotify also announced it has expanded its Megaphone business internationally as it has appointed Chelsea Bradbury as head of UK publisher partnerships.
