British Red Cross appoints Havas Media

The British Red Cross has chosen Havas Media UK to handle its UK media planning and buying after a competitive pitch.

Havas Media UK will now work with the humanitarian charity to develop its media strategy to increase brand relevance and consideration as well as expand its supporter base.

The new strategy will go across paid, owned, shared and earned channels with digital volunteer recruitment and legacy campaigns being the first focus.

This will be followed by an integrated brand and fundraising campaign later this year.

All of this ties in with the charity’s 10-year strategy focussing on humanitarian crises; disasters and emergencies, health inequalities, and displacement and migration.

The incumbent agency Medialab Group will carry on planning offline media activity for Emergency Appeals.

The British Red Cross is one of the largest charities in the UK with nearly 4000 staff and 20,000 registered volunteers ready to help when crises hit.
