Guardian’s Hamish Nicklin joins Dentsu Aegis UK

Dentsu Aegis Network has poached the Guardian’s CRO, Hamish Nicklin, installing him as executive director – media for UK and Ireland.

Nicklin will be responsible for leading the commercial growth of the group’s media line of business and will oversee the development of agency brands Amplifi, Carat, dentsu X, iProspect, and Vizeum.

Nicklin joins the business from The Guardian News & Media where he spent three and a half years as chief revenue officer helping to lead the publisher to commercial sustainability.

Prior to that he held senior roles at digital business AOL and Google following a stint working in the financial sector.

He will report into Euan Jarvie, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network UK & Ireland, and Peter Huijboom, global CEO Dentsu Media & Global Clients.
