Matthew Bloxham, senior telecoms, media and tech analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, tells The Media Leader what the UK advertising and media industry should expect if Sir Keir Starmer becomes prime minister.

Starmer leads a Labour party that is expected to win a majority in the UK general election, which takes place on Thursday 4 July.

Bloxham, who presented on the economic state of play at The Media Leader Summit last week, said the industry should expect “business as usual” in the short term amid a Starmer premiership but that it is reasonable to expect more UK growth in the middle phase of a Labour government, which could last up to five years.

He also discusses the wider state of the economy, what could happen to big agency networks Dentsu and Havas in the coming years and what is likely to happen with adspend and technology.
