Watch: AI will let publishers create more ‘human’ content, says Future commercial boss

The Year Ahead 2024

While Future, the international magazine publisher, has committed to not using AI to write content, it has been busy on plans to use the technology as a “co-pilot” for editors.

Dave Randall, its commercial director, spoke about this with The Media Leader at The Year Ahead 2024.

Citing video creation as an example, Randall said: “It’s beneficial for us to really edit that video down into snackable segments to run across social media. That takes a lot of time when you have an individual doing it.

“But if you can start to use AI technology to do it for you, and then have the human being check that, it frees up more time for us to create more human content for the human audiences that we are engaging with.”

The Year Ahead, hosted by The Media Leader and Adwanted Events, is an annual get-together for UK media and advertising’s most influential people.

Videos of the major panels and debates from The Year Ahead 2024 are now available on Adwanted UK’s YouTube channel.
