Avatar: The Way of Water: leads box office for seven weeks

The UK box office grew 17% year-on-year to reach £66.5m, according to the latest figures from Comscore.
James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water continued to lead the field in January, followed by Unverisal’s M3gan (£2.3m).
Since its debut in December, Avatar has remained at the top of the UK chart for seven consecutive weeks, the first title to do this since Tenet was released in cinemas during the Covid pandemic in 2020.
Avatar earned £20m in January, bringing its total UK box office to £71.6m, good enough for Number 15 in the all-time in UK box office ahead of Avengers: Infinity War.
