Revenue

According to agency estimates, year on year growth in terrestrial television including GMTV was 4.5% during July, with the total now at £203m. Channel 5 managed an increase of 26.7%, while Channel 4 rose 8.5%. ITV saw a small increase of 1.6%, but GMTV saw a drop of 5.4%.

A year on year increase of 22.4% was recorded for total satellite.

Commercial Impacts

It was a good month for commercial impacts, with rises almost across the board. ITV increases in all categories except Housewives, which fell 3.1%. The biggest rise was in Men, which went up 5.3%. ABC1 Adults rose 3.7%.

Channel 4 saw the biggest rise among Housewives with Children, which went up 16.9%, as did Channel 5, which saw a 20.5% rise in that category.

Satellite once again saw large increases overall, the most significant being Housewives and Children, which went up 50.3%, and ABC1 Adults, which rose 48.9%.

Costs Per Thousand

ITV’s costs per thousand fell for all categories except Housewives with Children, which rose 4.8%. Men fell 3.5% and ABC1 Adults 2%. Channel 4 saw Housewives with Children CPT fall by 7.2%, while Channel 5 saw an increase of 29.4% for ABC1 Adults.
