Top 10 Regional Newspapers: Jan-Jun 1999 ABCs

The latest set of circulation figures, released by the ABC today, point to a generally uninspiring performance by the top 10 regional newspapers. Only three of the top 10 regionals – Sunday Mercury (Birmingham) (1.5%), Leicester Mercury (inc Job Finder) (0.4%) and the Evening Herald (Dublin) (0.1%) recorded circulation increases, year-on-year.

Of the seven other top 10 regional titles the Newcastle Evening Chronicle (-3.9%), Glasgow – Evening Times (Mon-Fri) (-4.5%), Belfast Telegraph (-4.6%) and the Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Sunday Sun (-7.1%) posted the most worrying results.
