TikTok removed 54 million fake accounts over three months
In brief

TikTok removed 54 million fake accounts and over 113 million videos between April and June of this year, the company announced in its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.

The video removals amounted to the most ever for the short-form video platform, mostly due to an increase in total videos shared on TikTok.

The figure represents around 1% of total videos posted on the platform, in line with previous reports throughout 2021 and the first half of 2022.

A plurality (43.7%) of videos were removed because of concerns for minor safety.

The report also showed TikTok removed nearly 10 million advertisements.
