TalkTalk is set to offer Amazon Prime via the TalkTalk TV set-top box, with the news coming a day after Virgin Media announced a similar deal.
The UK operator said that the Prime Video app is being rolled out on its set-top boxes over the course of this month, ahead of Virgin Media’s Prime integration which is due this summer.
TalkTalk said the launch marks the latest step in its commitment to providing customers with a seamless viewing experience – offering viewers a range of players, apps, free-to-air and pay TV channels.
“Amazon Prime Video has captured TV fans with its exciting original series’ and is a fantastic addition to the TalkTalk TV line-up, making it even easier for our customers to enjoy the very best entertainment in one place and through just one remote,” said Will Ennett, Head of TV Content and Editorial, TalkTalk TV.
Amazon Prime’s selection of TV shows and movies includes originals like The Grand Tour, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Amazon also has the rights to 20 Premier League matches a season for three years from 2019/20.
TalkTalk customers with a Prime Video subscription will be able to stream the service by logging into the app via their set top box. Those without a subscription can sign up for a 30-day trial.
After this, a Prime Video-only subscription costs £5.99 per month. A full Amazon Prime membership, with additional benefits like free one-day shipping of items from Amazon.co.uk, costs £7.99 per-month.

TalkTalk TV’s content offering also includes Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and a number of kids’ channels.
