Sky focuses on non-subscription revenue with new advertising role

Sky is seeking new revenue opportunities outside subscription and created a new role to support this ambition, The Media Leader understands.

Former Warner Bros Discovery executive Priya Dogra has been named chief advertising and new revenue officer and will start in June.

Dogra will be responsible for searching for new revenue streams, including leading in areas such as gaming, betting and data.

She will head and expand Sky’s ad sales division, working closely with Brett Aumuller, Sky Media’s managing director, who will report to her.

Other responsibilities include supporting the core strategy of shifting from satellite to internet protocol television, leading the team through “an exciting period of innovation and growth” as Sky builds “a world-class digital experience for customers” and working closely with partners “to build deeper and stronger long-term relationships”.

Dogra will report to Nick Herm, who became Sky’s chief business officer in May 2023 following the departure of Patrick Béhar, who left to become Kantar Media global CEO.

Herm said: “Priya brings a wealth of operational and strategic experience in the media industry and her proven track record of success, partnered with our history of innovation, will be integral to driving growth areas for Sky.”

Dogra worked at Warner Bros Discovery for 14 years, most recently as president and managing director, EMEA, overseeing programming, production, marketing, distribution and commercial partnerships across film, TV, networks and streaming.
