RAJAR Results Q1 2003 – Local Commercial Stations

The tables showing the best and worst performers, in terms of weekly reach and share of listening, of the local commercial stations broadcasting outside London are now available to subscribers in the Radio reports section on the left.

The following stations are reporting for the first time: BBC World Service; Kerrang!, oneword radio and Smash Hits Radio.

New national TSA reports this quarter are BBC Asian Network UK and Total Kiss Network Radio.

The following name changes have occurred: 106 CTFM Radio is now KM-fm 106 Galaxy 101 has changed to Vibe 101 Total London News Radio has become Total LBC News Direct 97.3FM is now LBC 97.3 LBC 1152AM is now known as LBC News 1152 Juice 107.2 (was Surf 107.2) has changed to Juice 107.2 Total Radio Investments Group (excl. Thames 107.8) has become Total Radio Investments Group Radio Investments South (excl. Thames 107.8) is now Radio Investments South BBC Radio 5 Live is now BBC Radio FIVE LIVE Total BBC Asian Network has become BBC Asian Network BBC Wiltshire Sound is now known as BBC Radio Wiltshire/Swindon

Fresh AM, Sabras Sound and Classic Gold Radio (was Wyvern AM) left RAJAR as of Q1 2003 and will no longer report.

As of January 2003, RAJAR introduced three new diary questions:

a) The old Q.4 – “Do you receive Digital TV? Yes/No” has been changed to:

Which of these Digital TV services do you receive? Digital TV via satellite Digital TV via cable Digital TV via Freeview I do not receive any Digital TV services

b) The old Q.10 – “Out of every 10 hours that you watch TV, how many do you watch BBC and how many do you watch Commercial TV?” has been changed to:

What proportion of your total TV viewing is to BBC1 and BBC2?

c) A new question on internet usage has been introduced:

Q.16 – Have you ever used the internet for the following? Buying a product or service Banking Playing online games Downloading music Booking a holiday or travel None of the above
