Pamco CEO Simon Redican departs

Pamco CEO Simon Redican departs
Redican previously held roles at companies including Carat and News International

Simon Redican, CEO of the Publishers Audience Measurement Company (Pamco), has left the organisation, The Media Leader has learned.

Redican has been CEO of Pamco, the joint industry currency overseeing audience measurement for the published media industry in the UK, since 2014.

In a career spanning more than 30 years, Redican has held leadership roles at Dentsu media agency Carat, Publicis Groupe shop Starcom MediaVest (now Starcom), Classic FM, News International and the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) UK.

While at RAB, he was a board member of J-ET, the radio industry’s electronic trading system, which is operated by The Media Leader‘s parent company, Adwanted Group.

Pamco has seen a number of departures in the past year. In April 2023, client services director Alison Finch left after seven years. Last month, research director Luca Vannini stepped down, also after seven years, to become head of campaign audiences at TV audience measurement organisation Barb. He was replaced by Emma Holden, who previously worked at Kantar Media and Sky.

In a statement to The Media Leader, Pamco confirmed Redican has decided to stand down.

Redican said: “I am proud of my tenure at Pamco and wish all my colleagues well as they go into the next chapter of Pamco’s development.”

Jan Gooding, chair of Pamco and a columnist at The Media Leader, added: “On behalf of the Pamco board, we’d like to thank Simon for his nine years’ service in the role of CEO. In that time, he has overseen the successful launch of the company as the full cross-platform measurement service for the published media sector.

“We remain committed to providing the UK media industry and our partners with high-quality data that allows them to measure print and digital audiences with complete confidence. We will now undergo a review of our management structure and make an announcement in due course.”

A replacement has not yet been announced.
