John Price is to become deputy editor of the Observer after the completion of the paper’s sale. Price, currently assistant editor and home editor for both the Independent and Independent on Sunday, will take over from Adrian Hamilton. Hamilton will remain at the Observer as leader page editor.
No plans as to editorial changes for the newspaper will be made until the sale is finalised and new editor Johnathan Fenby takes the helm.
The sale also includes the magazines Money Observer, Jazz and Seahorse.
