NBCUniversal partners with Samsung for Rockefeller Center Fortnite experience
In brief

NBCUniversal has partnered with Samsung to launch a new playable experience in Fortnite called: “Tonight at the Rock – Powered by Samsung Galaxy”.

The metaverse experience will allow Fortnite players to explore a “fantastical” version of the Rockefeller Center in Manhattan.

Users can play mini-games in the co-branded virtual NYC, including exploring the Rock’s Studio 6B, where The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is recorded.

As part of NBCUniversal’s partnership with Samsung, in-game branded Samsung power-ups will be available for players to use.

“We’ve been collaborating with Samsung on unique, engaging integrations for over the past few years to bring Tonight Show audiences first-of-its-kind experiences they can’t connect with anywhere else,” said Mark Marshall, president, advertising and partnerships at NBCUniversal.

“Now, we are transforming with our partners as the industry dives further into tech enabled activations such as metaverse platforms redefining interactive advertising within iconic pieces of IP like NBC’s Late Night slate.”

On Wednesday night’s edition of Fallon, a “special in-show integration” mirroring one of the mini-games in real life will be included in the broadcast.

Fortnite, published by Epic Games, is available for free across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo consoles, as well as Android devices and iOS.
