Life In Cold Blood Ends With Over 5.8m

Lonesome George The final episode in David Attenborough’s Life In Cold Blood series drew over 5.8 million adults to BBC One last night between 9pm and 10pm.

The wildlife programme, which examined the complex and intriguing lives of turtles, tortoises and crocodilians, gave the channel a 26.2% audience share during the timeslot.

Over on ITV1, the final instalment of royal drama, The Palace, gained an average adult audience of less than 3.2 million, equating to a 14.3% viewing share.

Meanwhile, the start of Channel 4’s two-part exploration of the life and theories of Professor Stephen Hawking, Master of the Universe, attracted more than 1.7 million (7.8%), whilst Five’s Breaking in to Tesco lured almost 1.3 million (5.8%).

Earlier, EastEnders managed to gain a bigger audience than Coronation Street. Almost 9.1 million (39.2%) tuned in to the dramas of Albert Square between 8pm and 8.30pm on BBC One, as Tanya plotted her revenge against Max.

Between 8.30pm and 9pm, almost 8.9 million adults made Corrie the most watched show in the timeslot, with a 38.2% share.
