Shares in the ITV television companies shot up yesterday following news that the Broadcasting Act is to be amended to allow the companies to bid for one another (Newsline 27/5). HTV shares increased by almost 10% to 50p (+4p) and Anglia rose 9 to 296p.Central is up 15 to 1888p and Carlton Television jumped by 17p to 756p per share.
BBC POLL FOR VIEWERS
The BBC is to launch a viewers survey aimed at 2 million TV licence holders, to establish what they think of the services they receive from the Corporation. The BBC insists that the survey is cost effective because it will use its existing database of 21.9 licence payers, selecting the 10% at random.
