INR1 Licence Awarded

INR1 Licence Awarded

The Radio Authority yesterday awarded the INR1 licence to First National Radio (FNR) – Showtime Radio.

Three applications were received by the Radio Authority for the licence. The two unsuccessful bids came from Classic FM and UKFM (Newsline 23/5).

The first of the two Independent National Radio FM licences was awarded under the terms of the 1990 Broadcasting Act. The Act requires the licence to go to the highest bidder, FNR, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
