Global out-of-home revenue to surpass $40bn

Worldwide out-of-home (OOH) revenues will exceed $40bn for the first time this year, according to the World Out of Home Organization Global Market Index Report.

OOH’s global market share against other media was calculated to be 5.1%, compared to 4.7% in 2022, according to the 2023 survey of 200 WOO members, which now includes first-party data from 81 territories covering 95% of the world’s GDP.

OOH’s pre-pandemic 2019 market share sat at 5.8% and its revenue was $36bn.

Digital continued to grow its share of the global OOH market, forecast to be worth $15bn or 37% of the total.

By macro-region, Africa had the biggest market share with 12.5%, followed by Asia at 7.2%, Europe 5.9%, LATAM 5.5%, Australia/New Zealand 5.0% and, finally, North America 3.05%.
