Clear Channel Outdoor reports Q2 loss

Clear Channel Outdoor has reported a 24% year on year fall in worldwide revenue for the second quarter, leaving it at $692.1 million.

The outdoor giant’s international division, which includes the UK, saw revenue fall 29% year on year to $376.6 million.

The international division also reported a fall in OBIDAN, or pre-tax profit, of 42% year on year, to $63.7 million. Worldwide it was down 36% year on year.

The total revenue decline at Clear Channel Outdoor included a $61 million fall due to movements in foreign exchange rates. Without these, the company said that the worldwide decline would have been 18%.

Its parent company, CC Media Holdings, reported a net loss of $3.7 billion period on period, while revenue was down 21% on Q1.
