Once again Heat was the success story among the Celebrity/Gossip magazines, but IPC’s Now also continues to be a strong contender. It added 10% year on year to its circulation and is continuing to be a serious threat to OK!’s place at the top of this group.

Meanwhile, the original “celebs and their houses” magazine Hello experienced a 38.5% year on year fall in circulation, putting it in Heat’s sights. This loss, and the closure of Celebrity Looks meant that the sector as a whole was down in circulation year on year. However, with the increases at some titles mentioned above, the sector cannot really be said to be cooling off.

Aside from Heat, among TV Listings magazines one of the best year on year performances came from H Bauer’s TV Choice, which saw its circulation rise by 14.7% year on year. In contrast, major names including IPC’s TV Times, BBC Worldwide’s Radio Times and H Bauer’s TV Quick saw year on year declines. Overall, the sector looked pretty healthy, adding 7.2% to its total circulation year on year.
