ABC April: MailOnline down 324,000 as half of newsbrands record declines

In its second consecutive month of decline, MailOnline lost almost 324,000 daily browsers in April following a -2.32% drop, keeping its total audience under 14 million.

However, despite the decline, MailOnline still has almost double the number of daily browsers as guardian.co.uk – the UK’s second best-read online newsbrand – which recorded a little under 7.3 million online browsers in March, following a -1.17% period decline.

Nine newsbrands in the top 18 recorded declines in April.

The dailystar.co.uk put in the worst performance, dropping -16.27% and shedding -98,752 daily browsers, whilst The Independent was down -6.14% and lost -152,451.

The best performance was recorded by the Liverpoolecho.co.uk which added an extra 37,998 online readers – up 10.69%, month on month.
