UK government pushes HFSS regulation to 2025
In brief

The UK Government has delayed incoming regulation around advertising foods high in fat, salt and sugar from January 2023 to 2025.

It is likely this will be after the next general election.

The legislation plans to ban pre-watershed (9pm) TV advertising for HFSS foods, and “buy one get one free” deals on this kind of “junk food”.

Previously Boris Johnson’s government delayed the HFSS regulation by more than a year.
