The New York Times names Carter as Europe editor

The New York Times has named Adrienne Carter as its next Europe editor.

Carter (pictured, left) will be based in London. She will oversee coverage of the continent and lead the London newsroom.

Carter joined The New York Times in 2010 and most recently worked as its Asia editor since 2019.

She replaces Jim Yardly. Yardly, who has been Europe editor since 2016, is moving to New York to enter a new role as associate managing editor for enterprise at The New York Times.
