The Guardian appoints Furness as chief strategy and business development officer
In brief

The Guardian has promoted Richard Furness to chief strategy and business development officer.

Furness joined The Guardian in 1998 and has held a variety of sales and leadership roles including marketing director, director of publishing, and most recently managing director, customer engagement and business development.

In the new position he will be responsible for developing The Guardian‘s strategy, relationships and partnerships, while increasing revenue growth across the portfolio.
