Netflix ads chief to discuss strategy at Future of TV Advertising Global

Jeremi Gorman, president, Worldwide Advertising at Netflix, will give a keynote at The Future of TV Advertising Global on 6 December in London, just a month after the company goes live with its much-anticipated ad-supported tier, ‘Basic with Ads’.

This is expected to be the first time Netflix discusses the new ad-supported offer and its advertising strategy at a public conference anywhere.

Gorman will outline what Netflix can give to media buyers that is unique in the ad-supported television marketplace, as well as how the advertising inventory is being brought to market. She will be interviewed by Dave Morgan, CEO at cross-channel TV advertising company Simulmedia.

Netflix will launch ‘Basic with Ads’ into 12 countries initially, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, USA, Canada and Australia. The first roll-out is on November 1 (in Canada). The company has declared that, “Basic with Ads is everything people love about Netflix, at a lower price… It represents an exciting opportunity for advertisers — the chance to reach a diverse audience, including younger viewers who increasingly don’t watch linear TV, in a premium environment.”

Gorman joins industry leaders across the buyside and sell-side at an event that has tracked the advanced TV advertising transformation for over a decade. Other published speakers include Radha Subramanyam, president/chief research and analytics Officer, CBS; Tim Irwin, EMEA CEO, EssenceMediacom; Patrick Béhar, chief business officer, UK & Ireland, Sky; and Mark Frain, CEO of Foxtel Media.

Mediatel Events’ The Future of TV Advertising Global is held at Kings Place, near Kings Cross Station, in London on Tuesday, 6 December and Wednesday, 7 December. You can register for the event here. The Media Leader is part of Adwanted Group, parent company for Mediatel.
