NBCUniversal chooses new global ad chief

NBCUniversal has hired Maggy Chan as managing director and executive vice president of global advertising and partnerships.

Chan will start in the role on 16 January 2023, succeeding KC Sullivan who became president of CNBC in August 2022.

She will be based in the UK and report into Linda Yaccarino, chairman of NBCUniversal’s global advertising and partnerships.

Chan will focus on international advertising and partnerships teams across the US, Asia Pacific, and EMEA, and will aim to “diversify” NBCUniversal’s partnerships and expand its reach globally.

Most recently she was chief operating officer for global distribution at BBC Studios, which comprises its channels, streaming, international content sales, commercialisation of World News TV Channel, and ad sales on WNTV and BBC.com.

Yaccarino said: “I’m so excited for Maggy to leverage her global perspective to help us continue creating a platform, network, and ecosystem that’s fueling growth for every business. I can’t wait for her to become the BBC’s best gift to NBCU since The Office.”
