Disney has brought back Bob Iger to run the entertainment and media giant, replacing Bob Chapek as CEO.

Iger, who has worked at Disney for more than four decades, had been Disney’s CEO for more than 15 years before stepping down to retire 11 months ago. Chapek was named CEO in February 2020 but Iger stayed on as executive chairman during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chapek’s tenure as CEO had been marked by controversies such as his support of a Florida bill — dubbed “Don’t Say Gay” — that limits LGBTQ+ discussions in schools for students in the third grade and below.
