Garvey and Glover leave BBC for Times Radio
In brief

Broadcasters Jane Garvey and Fi Glover are set to host a new programme and podcast on News UK’s Times Radio.

Garvey and Glove (pictured, main image) will host a live weekday afternoon show from 10 October and launch a new podcast.

They have presented the BBC’s Fortunately podcast together since 2017, which will air on the BBC until the end of the year. Prior to that Garvey has hosted shows for the BBC for nearly 30 years.

They are the latest in a list of BBC talent to leave the corporation for jobs in  commercial, including Andrew Marr, Emily Maitlis and Andrew Marr that left last year for roles at Global.

This comes as share of commercial radio listening overtook the BBC for the first time in 20 years.

Times Radio first launched on 29 June 2020 and in the last RAJAR results recorded 570,00 weekly listeners, a drop of 18.9% on the previous quarter.
